Establishment of the TMU Research Center for Organ Transplantation
Since April 2022, Taipei Medical University has actively prepared for the establishment of the TMU Research Center for Organ Transplantation, which was officially launched in August of the same year as the university’s 13th university-level research center. The Center aims to provide patient-centered organ transplantation services by integrating the capacities of TMU’s three affiliated hospitals. Through clinical collaboration and mutual support, it seeks to rapidly expand service capabilities, advance research in related fields, and highlight TMU’s commitment to the humanistic care of organ donors.
The spirit of sustainable development within the TMU Healthcare System
In its initial phase, the Center will serve as a specialized hub primarily focused on clinical medical services. By actively integrating the medical professionals from TMU’s affiliated hospitals, the Center brings together transplant experts from all three institutions to provide mutual clinical support and deliver professional, cutting-edge organ transplantation services. This ensures that patients can access a full range of transplant-related resources regardless of which TMU-affiliated hospital they visit. The establishment of the Center also fosters a culture of excellence, encouraging young physicians to learn from experienced mentors and empowering senior doctors to guide and nurture the next generation. Together, they strengthen TMU’s transplantation capabilities, elevate its medical services, and shape new clinical innovations across its hospitals. Ultimately, the Center serves as a driving force for the sustainable development of the TMU Healthcare System.
