Organ transplantation is a key indicator of overall medical quality.
It reflects whether a medical institution has the capability to handle urgent, severe, rare, and complex cases, and serves as a driving force in raising the standard of healthcare. It is also one of the crucial medical services that Taipei Medical University (TMU) aims to further develop within its highly regarded healthcare system. In response to this, TMU began preparing to establish the TMU Research Center for Organ Transplantation in April 2022. The center officially launched in August of the same year, becoming TMU’s 13th university-level research center. The center offers a patient-centered approach to organ transplantation services and integrates the clinical capacity of TMU’s three affiliated hospitals. Through coordinated clinical efforts and mutual support, the center aims to rapidly enhance service capacity, further advance related research topics, and highlight TMU’s distinctive commitment to the humanistic care of organ donors.
